FAMILY SPONSORSHIP
Eligibility Criteria for Family Sponsorship
At NIC Immigration, we understand that family reunification is an important goal for many Canadian citizens and permanent residents. The Family Sponsorship program is designed to allow Canadian citizens and permanent residents to sponsor their eligible family members to come and live in Canada. Here are the eligibility criteria for Family Sponsorship:
Sponsor Eligibility: The sponsor must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, be at least 18 years old, and demonstrate the ability to support their family members once they arrive in Canada financially.
Family Member Eligibility: The sponsored family member must be the sponsor's spouse or common-law partner, dependent child, parent, or grandparent. The family member must meet the requirements for admissibility to Canada, such as having a clear criminal record and good health.
Relationship: The sponsor and the family member must have a genuine relationship and not be in a marriage of convenience.
Financial Requirements: The sponsor must demonstrate that they meet the financial requirements to support their family members, including minimum necessary income levels and the ability to provide for their basic needs.
